Celtch SMECS
Small to Medium Enterprise Cyber Security
that recognises that you are an SME
SMECS is the ideal service for when - someone you know or met was hacked and you are worried, - you have an IT person or team, but they aren’t really Cyber Savvy, - you know you could have, and probably should have, but haven’t yet, - you don’t know how or why but you know you should, - cyber defence is something you have just kept putting off, or - it seems too expensive.
SMECS uses a 6-step strategy to uplift to your Cyber Security progressively 1: Implement some fundamental protections upfront, 2: uncover your current vulnerabilities / needs, 3: risk assess those needs against costs to manage them, 4: plan a tailored uplift roadmap, 5: guide and support your uplift while progressively training your staff, 6: test the effectiveness of your implementation.
SMECS aligns you with Australia's own Essential 8 The Australian Government has created the Australian Cyber Security Centre or ACSC. Among its myriad services, the ACSC provides advice about Cyber Security for Australian businesses and that has culminated in the Essential 8. The Essential 8 is a program with 8 elements with 3 clearly defined levels of attainment each. Each element is crucial but the level you need for each varies depending on your exposure. There are many standards for Cyber Security management but Celtech have found the Essential 8 is a fantastic foundation for our SMECS program.
SMECS Provides the essential hardware and configurations upfront Celtech has sought to reconcile the unpredictability of untargetted Cyber attacks with the time it takes to develop enterprise wide Cyber Savvy. SMECS creates a perimeter defence as a first step as this is a solid defence against most untargetted attacks that seek out a weak perimeter. This includes leasing a quality router / firewall configured appropriately and a local NAS with a data backup procedure in the event that we were too late to get rolling. If you renew the SMECS program, you will not pay this upfront charge again and the hardware will remain yours to use for the duration of your partnership with us.
SMECS is a 12 month program, not a lifetime commitment SMECS uplifts your Cyber Security by increasing Cyber Savvy in all of your staff, refines and embeds your processes, and creates a plan to upgrade your IT hardware, all over a fixed 12 month term. You have the option at the end to return the leased hardware and replace it with your own, purchase it at a pre-agreed price and just keep rolling, or simply renew SMECS for another 12 months. Regardless, SMECS will report on your growth towards the goals you set out to achieve in the beginning.
Celtch SMECS
What's Covered...
1
Prevention
SMECS includes an initial hardware upgrade for strong perimeter defence, subscription to our Cyber Security WTF training series for your staff road mapping of approved uplifts, Celtech Hawk, a State of Play advisory, and the availability of experienced support to help you make more Cyber Savvy decisions.
2
Essential 8 Compliance
The SMECS program assesses a valid maturity level for each of the 8 elements of Australia's own Essential 8 Cyber Security framework based on your operational model and business decisions. This creates a goal with clear hardware and methodological requirements and we work with you to roadmap that goal in a timeframe that considers your budget and your exposure to risk.
3
Recovery
Information Security requires data to be backed up in case of hardware failure, (un)natural disasters, cyber attacks, and a variety of other reasons. A great backup is useless if you cannot recover the data effectively so Celtech work with you to provide both backup and recovery strategies. Hardware spares can also expedite return to Business as Usual.
4
Continuous Improvement
SMECS is designed to keep your defences current. SMECS includes a monthly State of Play email that lets you know about new threats or changes in current threats to SMEs or commonly subscribed services. We know your hardware and configurations and will proactively respond to threats that impact SMECS clients. Essential 8 is a tiered program and as you business grows and changes we will guide you towards increased compliance that is best suited.
Video script: Hi, I am Jack 1
Scene:
Camera looking at a person, face shaded by a hoody, sitting in front of a monitor, ie we are seeing his front and the back of his monitor. Background is blurred, like in Teams.
Dialogue:
“Hi, I am Jack. I just wanted to thank you for ignoring Cyber Security. I just paid for a software package on the dark web that allows me to hack computer networks. I am struggling to pay my rent, and it was either this or selling drugs. I am new to it, so I bought a cheap one.”
Scene:
2 young kids step close enough to actor to appear through the blur and actor pauses to shoo them away.
Dialogue:
“Oy, daddy’s working.”
Scene:
Actor faces front again.
Dialogue:
“It allows me to access networks where basic protections aren’t in place like…”
Scene:
Actor moves and clicks his mouse and then points at his screen like he is reading a list.
Dialogue:
“unpatched software, weak firewall or network configurations, out of date anti-virus and untrained staff. If I can ransomware a few small businesses while I learn, I can upgrade my software and chase bigger targets. Then I can get back on my feet. So, again, thanks.”
